2021-2022 Woodland Park WildLanterns Seattle

2021-2022 Woodland Park WildLanterns, Seattle, WA. This years exhibit was filled with butterflies, yellow jackets, dinosaurs, a chameleon with a tongue that stretches out to catch its prey, and the piece that brings awe to everyone the Chinese Dragon.

This was my third year attending the WildLanterns at the Seattle Woodland Park Zoo. Its the second year they have had a lantern styled display. I find that this reminds me of the Luminary Procession of the Species held in Olympia generally in April.

I was lucky to go with dear friends on a dry night. Its doable on a rainy evening but it is so much more pleasant on a dry day.

The lanterns seemed to hold up very well this year, a visit in the first week and visit in the last week gave me the opportunity to observe how they held up. The previous year the lanterns seemed to be more worn out.

The event was presented by BECU this last year and in previous years was known as the zoolights which was strand of lights wrapped around 3d metal shapes.
