A visit to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in December:
I had the opportunity to visit the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in December.
It was a great visit and worth the ticket price. We looked at most of the area. The last time we were there we saw camels and sand sharks. This time was different.
It was cold but some dear friends brought hand warmers and that was a huge help.
Check out the photos below for more captions.
Loved checking out the jellyfish in the regular tanks and a dome tank.
The aquarium was filled with large and small creatures. A favorite was the crab below.
Otters are definitely our favorite. the way the move and spin around is so cute.
I was testing out the new camera and experimenting with movement. I was pretty pleased with how the camera was bale to focus on the eye.
Another great movement shot at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium on the aquarium side of the zoo.
At Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium you can see a variety of animals but my personal favorite are the puffins.
Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium has a great animal talk. The bottom image here was interesting to witness, all the penguins were swimming back and forth in a flock, it was very calming.
We got to see this wonderful bald eagle at the animal encounter at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. I loved when they mentioned all the foods she eats, her expression completely changed, like talking with a doggie.
The aardvark, which is an Afrikaans word, a language spoken in South Africa. Aardvark translates to earth-pig. They trained the aardvark to come out of her cage for treats and go back to her cage by herself.
Such a wonderful noble creature. Her wing was damaged and she came to the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium to recover.
Talking about her favorite snacks.
We came over to the tiger as it was being fed, it was very exciting!
Welcome to the year of the tiger!
