There are so many things I want to share in this post.
We have had quite the three years when it comes to our yard. Jeff and I with our son doing our best to be good homeowners but I have to tell you its a learning curve. Battling with yard work management as well as yard debris removal. Today was the day, we would finally be rid of the huge pile taking up a quarter of our yard, valuable badminton space. We decided to hire out. Pinup Cleanup, a junk removal company in Olympia.
Lacy is known for her company Pinup Cleanup LLC for junk removal and demolition. Her cleanup services include: cleanups in estate, hoarder, garages, residential and commercial. She also removes furniture, appliances, recycling. Construction site cleanup. Yard debris removal, that was ours.
We met Lacy a few years ago and wanted to hire her to help us remove some junk but then…life happened and I was in an accident. If you have experience with being in an accident you will be able to relate to how life really slows down for sometimes 1-2 years.
I was finally strong enough to help with yard work and boy did we need it. We cut so many apple and pear tree branches not only from our yard but anything extending over into our property from the neighbors. There was a lot.
At first we thought we would put little by little into our small yard waste bin but…that required a lot of work and time from us.
Two years later we ended up with what I like to call “the fire starter pile”. This is how I deal with the frustration of lack of time.
We ended up with a little extra money and decided to give Lacy a call. We sent her photos of our pile and got on the books.
When her team arrived on our doorstep, three people by the way, we were so frikken excited! They were all so lovely to be around. Friendly, informative, considerate, careful and fun.
I was so grateful that they allowed me to photograph them and capture the hard work they were doing for us.
Did I mention….they were SUPER FAST? We would look at this pile and consider moving things to the front BUT we didn’t have the time. We were so surprised at how fast they were moving. I thought I would have time to go do something else but Jeff and I were glued to their technique and ability to work together.
Once everything was removed they raked and swept. I mean, who does that? Who goes that extra mile to make a place that isn’t their own nice?
She gives free estimates, does excellent work, has a great reputation, her and her employees have fantastic personalities, everyone in her company is professional and considerate.
The company is local, serving Thurston County.
They offer two kinds of services: (Taken from her facebook post)
“PINUP CLEANUP LLC: (360)951-2435 – We can help with DEMOLITON of any kind. And JUNK REMOVAL of any kind. We recycle and repurpose and can handle hazardous material. We’ll also continue to run our dump trucks for people who need gravel or other materials delivered.
SOUTH BAY BUILD AND REMODEL: (360)951-4011 – This is the company that will handle all of our remodeling, repairs, home improvement, new construction and sprucing up. This company is super cool because we do most everything in house. Our subs are electricians and plumbers and we always find the best quality materials from local business. We will continue to recycle, reclaim and repurpose materials and you can be sure when you call, you’ll get quality all around.”
You can check out her website here. We also think it’s fun to follow her Instagram here.
Here are photographs from the day. The first one below is a progression of the removal. The team moved so quickly I sometimes thought we wouldn’t keep up. I tried to get images of the process but also portraits. You might see Jeff in one or two images. I tried to add captions so keep an eye out for those!
Here is the before, during and after shots.
On the right you will notice the three different types of our yard. The team said we will probably see new grass shoots growing in a couple weeks. We noticed potato bugs and apparently that’s a good sign.
Sometimes you can see Jeffs legs in a shot but I didn’t worry to much about this because we were experimenting with lighting 🙂
One of my favorite moments in this process was when the raking began, there was so much debris flying around which photographed well but I would’ve had an allergic reaction to all of that dust. So grateful for them.
This used to be an arch, it fell after a snow dump and had been lying down in our yard for years, so glad we were finally able to be rid of it.
This man was wonderful, he piles everything really neatly so that the team can get as much into one truck load as possible.
Many hands making fast work! About 90 minutes.
A lovely ending picture of the Pinup Cleanup team after their accomplishment of junk removal in Olympia. Did I mention they are local?
Let's chit-chat!
